All of our courses use Windows 10 and Office 2010 software.
Please let us know if your Windows or Office version is different as we may still be able to help.


Every Wednesday 10am to 2pm, we are here for anyone who needs a helping hand with their ‘Online’ problems….

• We are here for all those general problems that stop you in your tracks and cause you headaches
• Whether it is a niggle with your computer or tablet, or your smartphone that is just driving you crazy!

Whatever you need help with we are here to help.
We are so pleased to be welcoming Pippa Worth, an old friend of the Trust, back to Allendale House to run this new scheme for us and help solve those annoying little problems that you just can’t seem to figure out.
We are allocating hourly time slots so please ring to book.

Tuesday 6th March 1pm to 3.15pm
A basic introduction to the social networking site Twitter. Learn how to tweet, use hashtags and follow other people who share the same interests as you.

iPad Workshops
Wednesday 14th February
iPad - The Basics – 10am to 12pm
iPad - Organising and Emailing – 1.30pm to 3.30pm

Do you own an iPad and want to learn more about it or do you want to put it to better use?
These workshops are for the new user who needs help doing the basics, like navigating, finding Apps, downloading them, organising them or simply getting into settings. You will already need to have an iTunes account for your iPad.
Please make sure your iPad is fully charged on the day and that you bring all your passwords with you.

Welcome to social networking and let us open a whole new world for you! Facebook allows you to connect with friends and family across the world, where you can play games, buy or sell goods and much more. Learn how to set up and use a Facebook account safely.

Let us take the mystery out of Windows 10 for you! Discover things you didn’t know you had! The first week is for those recently upgraded to Windows 10 or who have bought a new computer and are struggling to get to grips with all the new features of Windows 10.

Organising Documents & Folders in Windows 10
Thursday 8th February 6.30pm – 8.45pm
Tuesday 20th March 10am – 12.15pm

File explorer is the place to sort out all your folders and documents. This workshop will lead you through some of the new features. Help you get your folders in order, reorganise them, rename them, or just find out where everything is!

Buying and Selling with eBay
Tuesday 20th February to 6th March 10am to 12.15pm

Learn how to use the popular buying and selling website ‘eBay’. Get rid of all those unwanted items and make a bit of money too! You will learn how to set up a PayPal account which you need for eBay, how to search for items and bid for them, how to sell items and how to add a photograph.

Developing your Skills
Tuesday 9th January to 6th February, 10am to 12.15pm 
Week 1 Developing your Word Skills – Basics & Layout (9th January)

Recap on the basics of Word and learn new features including cutting and pasting, layout options, page numbering, headers and footers.

Week 2 Developing your Word Skills – Tables & Tabs (16th January)
Develop your Word skills by learning how to create and modify tables and tabs easily and accurately.

Week 3 Developing your Word Skills - Inserting Pictures, Photos and Objects into a Document (23rd January)
Inserting pictures and photos, formatting them to create interesting documents. If you’re creating a poster, invitation or just want help with simple additions, this workshop will help you.

Week 4 Developing your Excel Skills - Introduction to Spreadsheets (30th January)
This workshop will introduce you to the popular spreadsheet application Excel. Learn how to set up a simple spreadsheet to make basic calculations to help you with everyday tasks.

Week 5 Developing your Powerpoint Skills - Introduction to Presentations using Powerpoint (6th February)
This workshop will introduce you to the popular presentation application Powerpoint. Learn how to set up your own presentation with tips and hints on what to do.

Updating your IT Skills   
Thursdays 6.30pm to 8.45pm  

£48 Each four week block.

Powerpoint - 4th to 25th January.
Excel - 22nd February to 15th March

Do your IT skills need an update? Are there things you could do on your computer before but are now struggling with? Have you got a new computer system in your workplace but not had the training to go with it? We can help
you solve those niggling problems and bring your skills up to date with the latest Microsoft Office Software.

Starting with Word processing, then move on to Spreadsheets using Excel, and then on to Powerpoint presentations. Each block is four weeks and you are able to buy blocks that are of particular interest to you.  A quick consultation with the tutor before you start is needed to check your requirements.
