Welcome To Dorset Architectural Heritage Week (Heritage Open Days)

Dorset Architectural Heritage Week is an annual event which aims to stimulate public awareness of Dorset's rich architectural and cultural heritage.
The first half of the week is part of the national Heritage Open Days but Dorset contains such a wealth of fascinating architecture that the events
continue in the County for a further four days!

This is a chance to visit buildings not normally open to the public, to go on guided walks, hear talks and generally enjoy the County’s rich historic environment.

The week-long event is organised and run by East Dorset Heritage Trust and very kindly supported through the generosity of the Institute of Commercial Management.

We have just had confirmation from the Heritage Open Days Office of their finalised 2018 dates and they have elected to make a bit of a change!
Instead of running from the 13th – 16th September as previously announced they are actually going to run for
2 separate weekends for the 1st time ever, 6th - 9th  and 13th – 16th September.

In order to incorporate both Heritage Open Weekends into our programme this means that we are going to have to make a change to our dates as well. Instead of running from Thursday to Thursday with a single weekend in the middle, as we have in previous years, we will be running from Thursday to Sunday beginning and ending with a weekend.

As such Dorset Architectural Heritage Week 2018 will now be Thursday 6th – Sunday 16th September and not 13th - 20th as previously indicated.

If you have any questions about these changes please do get in touch. Event Holder Registration will still open in March 2018 as previously announced.
