French Courses

These are a continuation of courses which started in September 2024 but all are welcome to join these friendly groups.
Course 1 : Conversational French
If you have a proficient grasp of French, this course will help you maintain and improve your grammar and conversation, with the support of a native speaking tutor. In a friendly atmosphere, experience the wonderful culture while developing your skills via reading, discussion, crosswords and games and continue to appreciate the rich and varied complexities of this beautiful language.
Course Dates:
Tuesday 7th January to 11th February (With half term break on 18th February) and 25th February to 8th April 10am to 11.30am
Six-week course £72 and Seven week course £84
Course 2 : Advanced French
If you have some knowledge of the present, past, future and conditional tenses in French and would like to increase your understanding to develop your conversation skills, this course is for you. Learn in a supportive, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere and discover more of the beautiful language with the help of a native speaking tutor.
Course Dates:
Tuesday 7th January to 11th February (With Half Term Break on 18th February) and 25th February to 8th April, 12pm to 1pm
Six-week courses £48 and Seven week courses £56
Course 3 : Improvers French
This course is for people who are already getting by when on holiday in France but would like to learn about the grammar in order to help develop their conversational skills. Learn how to become more confident in a friendly and supportive way by a native speaking tutor.
Course Dates:
Tuesday 7th January to 11th February (With Half Term Break on 18th February) and 25th February to 8th April, 1.15pm to 2.15pm
Course 4 : Beginners French
This course started in September 2024 but is still classed as a beginner’s class. Learn in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere with no pressure of exams. Step by step discover the beautiful language with the help of a native speaker. Learn how to become independent on holiday by learning to order food at a restaurant, ask for directions with confidence, shop or just chat to the people you meet.
Wednesday 8th January to 12th February (with half term break on 19th February) and 26th February to 9th April, 10am to 11am
Course 5 : Get By in French
This class is for beginners who would like to get by when visiting France. Learn how to become more confident when on holiday by learning to order food at a restaurant, ask for directions, book a hotel room or shop. This course is basic, based on repetition with no grammar, but taught in a friendly and supportive way by a native speaking tutor.

Nathalie is originally from a small island off the Brittany coast called Belle ile en Mer and made England her home 33 years ago. She has been our French tutor since June 2019 and is also our Meditation tutor.
